At this age, parents are their child's greatest teacher. When making music together, parents nurture their child's love of music.

Musical Literacy

In the K-grade 2 class, we learn to read and write music. In this case, we are writing rhythms with popsicle sticks.

Creative Play

We use props like puppets to engage our imagination in active play.

Playing Instruments

Playing instruments helps children develop their coordination while practicing the beat.

The kids love the class and we have been singing MORE in quarantine than ever before!

Anita's Bio

Anita Perlau has enjoyed a varied career as an elementary music specialist, choral conductor, university lecturer and workshop clinician. She has advanced certificates in both the Kodály and Orff philosophies, a Master of Education (music education) and studied at the Kodály Institute in Kesckemet, Hungary.

Anita has been an Early Childhood instructor since 2001. Anita feels privileged to work with young children. Their honesty and spontaneity to move and sing inspires her every day to take on more of their perspective on life – laugh more, play more, sing more... and stop being so serious!

When Anita isn’t singing, she enjoys cycling and running. She is Mom to two awesome young adults and wife to THE most supportive husband.

Anita is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
